Building What Comes Next
Every generation is defined by the questions it chooses to ask.
For many years, global tourism has celebrated growth—
more visitors, more destinations, more investment, and more
connectivity. These achievements have transformed economies,
created opportunities, and brought the world closer together.
Today, however, our industry stands at a different point in its
evolution.
The question is no longer simply how tourism grows.
The question is how tourism creates development that endures.
The Global Tourism Forum – Investment Summit Angola 202
brought together leaders from governments, international
organizations, financial institutions, hospitality groups, investors and
innovators around a shared ambition: to unlock new opportunities
for one of Africa’s most promising destinations and to strengthen
tourism as a driver of economic transformation.
At World Magazine, we believe that every meaningful gathering is
more than an event.
It is a meeting of ideas.
It is where different experiences, perspectives and ambitions
converge to shape the next chapter of our industry.
Our role is to preserve those conversations—not merely as moments
in time, but as knowledge that continues to inspire decisions,
partnerships and leadership long after the summit concludes.
This special edition reflects that purpose.
Within these pages, readers will discover the thinking of global
decision-makers who are redefining investment, destination
development, hospitality, aviation, connectivity, sustainability
and international cooperation. Together, these perspectives reveal
an industry that is becoming increasingly interconnected, where
success depends not only on attracting capital, but on building
trust, strengthening institutions and creating partnerships capable
of delivering lasting value.
The story of Angola is therefore larger than one destination.
It is a reminder that every emerging economy possesses the potential
to redefine its future when vision is matched with commitment, and
when opportunity is supported by collaboration.
Tourism has always connected people.
Today, it must also connect policy with implementation, investment
with impact, innovation with inclusion, and ambition with
responsibility.
That is the conversation we hope to advance through this publication.
As the official publication of the World Tourism Forum Institute,
World Magazine is committed to documenting not only where
global tourism is today, but where it is going—and the leadership
required to get there.
Every issue is an invitation to think beyond destinations.
To think beyond projects.
To think beyond headlines.
Because the future of tourism will ultimately be shaped not by the
events we attend, but by the actions we take afterwards.
Thank you for joining us in building what comes next.
